Who We Are.

The Shubin Crew! I'm Erica, married to my best friend David for 13 years. Together we have four great kids, Nichol (12) Skyler (11) Olivia (8) and Silas (5). Originally from the Pacific NW we moved to Arizona in 2004 and we now call the beaches of Florida our home. This is the most beautiful place we've ever lived and we're so thankful for the friends God has put in our lives. They have become our "family" while we're so far from our precious loved ones.

David is in construction management, currently working a big project on the military base here. I'm a full time mom and Jane of all trades, master of none. I also work part time from home in content management and love it.

Nichol loves Jesus, has an extreme love for the orphan and wants to do more. On the home front she is the second mama, she cooks, cleans, and cares for the littles when I'm away or otherwise distracted. She's extremely helpful, has a heart for special needs babes, and made her first trip to Africa this past January. Nichol loves drawing, arts, crafts, and all things clean.

Skyler loves Jesus and was one of the reasons we adopted the first time, he so desperately wanted a brother it was something he asked us often. The look on his face when we told him we were going to adopt was priceless and something I treasure. Watching the bond between him and Silas is incredible, he loves that little boy fiercely. Skyler has a soft heart, is so loving, a hard worker, and wants to go to Ethiopia with us this next January.

Olivia loves Jesus, was baptized this past Easter and is just about as sweet as they come, she is happy go lucky but loves her daddy more then anyone on this earth. She has him wrapped around her little finger and still very much acts like the youngest child and probably always will. She loves to cook, help mom around the house, and take care of her brother.

Silas loves Jesus, talks openly about our great need for Him and loves all things cars. Silas is a chatterbox, he even talks about how much he talks. His smile will brighten a room, he's proud of who he is, loves his family, and always gives the best hugs. Silas loves to help Dad do anything around the yard and always wants to do what the big kids are doing. He's a precious gift from God and we are so thankful He chose US to be Silas' family.

Together David and I are once again setting out to bring home our fifth child. Never did we think we'd have five kids however it is our hearts desire to follow the Lord in whatever He calls us to do. Our family size is not up to us and there are so many children that need families we cannot ignore this call on our lives.

Our precious daughter awaits in Ethiopia, Africa. We have not seen her face but we love her just the same. We are raising the funds to bring her home and we will stop at nothing to do that. God has made it abundantly clear to us that HE will provide in His timing and through His people. We are so blessed to have so many of you fighting with us and pressing forward, working hard to bring this little girl into her forever family. Thank you for being apart of her story. Our story. Our family in the making.

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. Psalm 68:5

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27
